CAPITAL CITY CLASSIC SCRIMMAGE

https://capitalcityclassic.org

Thank you for your interest in the Sacramento trip! The Capital City Classic will be taking place in Sacramento, CA at Pleasant Grove High School (9531 Bond Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624). The team will be attending the event from October 17 (Thursday) to October 20 (Sunday), all team members are welcome. The overall goal of the scrimmage is to gain new experience and insight to the ways that championship title winning teams perform before and during the robotics build season. There will be a 12-passenger van that will transport the robot and students to and from the event. The team will be staying at the Marriot Residence Inn Sacramento Cal Expo (1530 Howe Avenue Sacramento, CA 95825). Both the van and housing will be for students and will be prioritized for students who will be traveling without a parent. Those students will be under supervision of the mentors.

IF THE STUDENT WILL BE TRAVELING IN THE TEAM VAN:

The team will meet on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 8:00 am and leave for Sacramento at 10:00 am. We will be returning on Sunday, October 20, 2019 around 11:30 pm – 12:00 am depending on the time the event ends. A fee of $342 covers transportation, hotel, and food. If the fee is not turned in by Thursday, October 10, 2019 the student will not be able to attend the event. Space is limited in the van, so seats will be filled on a first come first serve basis, as well as for hotel rooms. If the student unfortunately does not make it on the van, arrangements will be have to be made by the parent for the student to get to the event if they wish to still go. The last day to submit the google form if you would like your child to ride and stay with the team will be Saturday October 10, 2019 by 11:59 pm. Notification of who will be able to and who will not be able to go to the event in the team van will be sent out Sunday, October 6th, 2019. The people who will go on the van will be selected based off the times that we get responses from the google form attached below.

IF THE STUDENT WILL BE TRAVELING WITH A PARENT:

They will have the option to choose their departure time if they will not be leaving with the van from Bosco. The departure time and date must be communicated with the Team Capitan to get an understanding of when team members will be arriving and/or leaving. Students traveling with parents will need to make hotel reservations on their own. Parents are responsible for getting their child to and from the scrimmage. The last day to let us know that you and your child will be attending the scrimmage and fill out the google form will be Wednesday October 9, 2019.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Students will have an excused absence since the scrimmage is a school affiliated event.
  • Students are completely responsible for ensuring that they communicate with teachers and get all work done necessary as to not fall behind in classes.
  • The dress code for the event will be jeans/ pants with shirts/ polos that have Bosco embroidery.
  • Closed toe shoes are required at all times when at the event.
  • Only those traveling without a parent, in the van, and staying in the hotel rooms with other students will be under supervision by team mentors. Parents will be responsible for their own children.
